The .IN country code top-level domain (ccTLD) is the official domain extension for India.
.IN domain registrations require valid registrant information and supporting documents. Please review the requirements below before submitting your registration.
For Individuals Individuals need to provide a valid identification document. Required: Valid identification document and the ID must display your current address
If the address is not visible on the ID, please provide an additional address proof document, such as: phone bill, utility bill or Other official document showing the same address The address on the ID or supplementary document must match the registrant contact details used for the domain registration.
For Companies Companies may need to provide business registration documents. Required: A copy of the official Business Registration Certificate. Or an equivalent company registration document
The company name and contact details should match the registrant information submitted for the domain.
For Foreign Registrants Foreign registrants may be required to provide proof of connection to India. Required: A signed Indian Business Connection Declaration (The declaration should state that the registrant has a valid business connection to India.)
The .IN registry requires real and valid registrant information. Proxy registrations and generic names are not accepted. Examples of names that may be rejected include: Domain Administrator/ Admin Contact/ Privacy Service/ Proxy Holder..... Registrant and administrative contact details must reflect an actual legal name, company name, or responsible party.
Valid Contact Email Required The registrant email address must be valid and able to receive registry communications. Temporary or encrypted email services are not allowed for domain contact emails.

The .IN registry may audit registrations and deny registrations that do not meet its requirements.
