Domain Email Verification: How It Works at NiceNIC
To keep domain registration information accurate and compliant, some domain names may require email verification after registration, transfer, or contact information updates.
NiceNIC has optimized the verification process to make it easier for customers who register or transfer multiple domains using the same email address.
When Is Email Verification Required? Email verification may be required when: You register a new domain name. You transfer a domain name to NiceNIC. You use a new registrant email address that has not been verified before. Your registrant email address or contact information is updated. We receive evidence suggesting that the contact information may be inaccurate. ICANNos Registration Data Accuracy requirements allow registrars to verify registrant contact information, and previously verified contact information does not need to be verified again unless there is reason to believe it may no longer be valid.
If Your Email Address Has Already Been Verified If your registrant email address has already been verified before, NiceNIC will not send another verification email for new domains registered or transferred using the same verified email address. This means: No repeated verification email will be sent. New domains using the same verified email can be automatically recognized as verified. You do not need to click a new verification link for every domain. This helps reduce unnecessary emails and makes bulk registration or transfer management easier.
If You Register Multiple Domains with the Same Email If you are a new customer or you use a new email address that has not been verified before, and you register multiple domains using the same email address, NiceNIC will only send one verification email first. After you complete verification for one domain, other domains using the same email address will also be verified automatically. Example: You register these domains with the same email address: example1.com example2.net example3.org NiceNIC sends a verification email for example1.com. Once you click the verification link and complete the process, example2.net and example3.org will also be marked as verified automatically, as long as they use the same registrant email address.
Can I Resend the Verification Email? Yes. If you did not receive the verification email, or if the verification link has expired, you may choose any one of the domains using the same email address and resend the verification email. After you verify that email, all other domains using the same email address will be verified automatically. Before resending, please also check: Your spam or junk folder. Whether your registrant email address is correct. Whether your mailbox can receive external emails. Whether your email provider blocked or delayed the message. What Happens If the Domain Is Already on Hold? If a domain is placed on Hold because the registrant email address has not been verified, completing verification for one domain will automatically verify other domains using the same email address. After verification is completed, NiceNIC will automatically remove the verification-related Hold from the affected domains, where applicable. However, please note: Email verification can only remove Holds caused by incomplete email verification. It cannot remove Holds caused by abuse, registry action, policy violation, legal complaint, DNS Abuse investigation, or other compliance-related reasons.
Important: Abuse-Related Holds Are Different If a domain is on Hold due to Abuse or compliance review, verifying the email address will not automatically reactivate the domain. Examples may include: Phishing Malware Botnet activity Spam used as a DNS Abuse delivery mechanism Fraud-related abuse reports Registry-imposed Hold ICANN or registry compliance-related action In these cases, the domain owner may need to provide additional information, evidence, or corrective action before the case can be reviewed.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. I registered several domains. Why did I receive only one verification email? If all domains use the same registrant email address, NiceNIC only needs to verify that email once. After the email is verified, other domains using the same email can be verified automatically.
2. My email was verified before. Why didnot I receive a new verification email? If the same email address has already been verified, NiceNIC does not send repeated verification emails for each new registration or transfer. This is normal and does not mean your domain was skipped.
3. Can I verify all my domains by clicking only one verification link? Yes, if the domains use the same registrant email address. Once one verification is completed, other domains using the same email address will also be verified automatically.
4. My domain is on Hold. Will email verification remove the Hold? It depends on the reason for the Hold. If the Hold was caused only by incomplete email verification, the Hold can be removed automatically after successful verification. If the Hold was caused by Abuse, registry action, legal issue, or compliance review, email verification alone will not remove the Hold.
5. What should I do if my domain remains on Hold after verification? Please check whether the Hold is related to email verification or another issue. If you are unsure, contact NiceNIC Support and provide your domain name. Our team will help you check the current status and advise the next step.
Summary NiceNICos email verification process is designed to reduce repeated verification emails while keeping domain registration information accurate and compliant. In most cases: One verified email can cover multiple domains using the same email address. Previously verified emails do not need repeated verification. Verification-related Holds can be automatically removed after successful verification. Abuse-related Holds require separate review and cannot be removed by email verification alone.
At NiceNIC, we know repeated verification emails can be inconvenient, especially for customers managing multiple domains. To make the process easier, we have simplified email verification so one verified email address can support multiple domains using the same registrant email. This helps reduce unnecessary steps, keep your domains verified and secure, and make domain management smoother. If you are unsure about your verification status, our support team will be glad to help you check it and guide you through the next step.
