.ES domain registration requirements

The .ES country code top-level domain name (ccTLD) is an extension representing Spain.

When registering a .ES domain, you should remember that:

• It should be available for registration;
• It should comply with the rules of syntax;
• It should not be included into the list of prohibited words;
• It should not be included into the list of reserved words.

The Registrant, Technical, and Billing Contacts of a .ES domain name may either be a natural person/individual or a company. The Admin Contact must be a natural person/individual only.

If .ES domain is registered on behalf of an Individual, the Organization name and Job Title fields should be left blank for all contact sets.

If the Registrant is an Organization (legal person), the Registrant ID and Admin ID must differ.

While registering a .ES domain, you need to specify some additional information as follows:

1) Registrant ID Type: You may choose to provide us with any of the following identification details:

• VAT ID (DNI, NIF or CIF): Select this option if you can provide us with either your Spanish National Personal ID, your company VAT ID number or tax ID of your company.
• Resident alien ID (NIE): Select this option if you can provide us with your Spanish resident alien ID number.
• Generic ID: Select this option if you do not have any of the above-mentioned IDs, but can provide us with any of the following documents - your Passport number, any Foreign ID document number, Company Registration number, Driveros License number, etc.

2) Registrant ID Number: Depending on the option you selected above, you need to provide the ID's number here.

3) Administrative ID Type:

• Generic ID: Select this option if you can provide us with any Foreign ID document number, Passport number, Driveros License number.
• National Identity: Select this option if you can provide us with your Spanish National Personal ID (DNI/NIF) or CIF (companies registered in Spain).
• Resident alien ID (NIE): Select this option if you can provide us with your Spanish resident alien ID number.

4) Administrative ID Number: You need to provide the ID's number depending on the option you selected above.
