See which of your domains are growing in popularity.
I use dotDB several times per week for domain research.
At its core, dotDB helps you see the number of extensions a domain name is registered in, as well as other variations of names that include its keyword. It’s great for quickly gauging the popularity of a second-level domain.
dotDB offers additional tools for tracking the popularity of second level domains. A couple of weeks ago, it launched Domain Management, a nice tool for monitoring your portfolio for new registrations in different TLDs.
To use the tool, you simply upload your list of domains. DotDB then shows stats for each domain, including the number of extensions it is registered in.
More importantly, it tracks changes to the number of extensions. This allows you to see which domains are getting new activity, which might help with pricing and sales strategy.
Here’s an example from my portfolio:

Trls.com has some new registrations. To find out what they are, I can click the Actions button on the right and click on Search Result. To see which TLDs are newly registered, I can click the trend chart for the domain. (dotDB tells me it will show the new domains directly in the Domain Management tool in the near future.)
Unfortunately, dotDB doesn’t offer alerts based on domains in the Domain Management. It has a separate tool for that called Domain Monitor, which has lower limits.
